His first half season at Real Betis was a success. The youngster was fast protruding as one of the leading young footballers in world football and further reaffirming why Chelsea saw off competition from Europe big teams to his signature.
The following season proved abortive for Musonda as injuries and changes to technical bench left the youngster in an awkward position and the club acted by recalling him early from the loan spell.
The 21 year old has since being given some runs in the Chelsea main team and in the process has scored a goal and assisted further two. But while Conte has not being convinced, a host of clubs have being looking at the winger to beef their squads as leagues all over Europe reach crunch times. With an array of teams after his signature, Musonda has settled for Scottish champions and current league leaders in the Scottish premier league, Celtic.
The son to former Zambia international, Charles Musonda, will put pen to paper on an 18 month loan deal to add further firepower to the Brendan Rodgers tutored side.
At Celtic the 21year old will not be short of muse. Mousa Dembele and Tierney have all maturated under the guidance of Rodgers.
Musonda will dovetail right into Celtic playing style; the current Scottish champions play attacking football which is Musonda’s biggest asset as a footballer.
The 21year old though will hope he doesn’t fall in the category of Josh McEachran and Victor Moses who both struggled to get game time under the Welsh man.
