Chelsea @ Leicester City Premier League Preview

Chelsea @ Leicester City Premier League Preview

Stamford Bridge, Saturday 15th of October 2016

The international break is over. England has suffered another humiliating result, the Germans won and the Premier League resumes. With many of Chelsea’s stars proving their worth yet again for their respective countries. Amid rumours from The Sun newspaper in England that he might be used as a makeweight to secure the signature of Leonardo Bonucci Eden Hazard scored in both of Belgium’s international World Cup qualifying games against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Gibraltar (I know not sterling opposition). The winger has begun the campaign with mixed performances but Chelsea fans will be hoping he is coming back raring to go.

Diego Costa is another who featured for his country this past week scoring against Albania in a 0-2 victory for the Spanish. Diego Costa will be looking this weekend to add to his 6 Premier League goals that see him top the leagues goal scoring charts just above Sergio Aguero, Romelu Lukaku and Michail Antonio all who have 5. Chelsea’s opponents and last years champions Leicester have conceded 5 goals in their last 4 games though this stat may be misleading as two of those games Kasper Schmeichel managed clean sheets.. It will likely be a tactical battle between two great Italian coaches and with Conte set to revolutionise Chelsea’s formation in coming weeks we are likely to see great successes and mistakes. The blues are expected to play a variation of a 3-4-3 attacking formation. N’Golo Kante is also set to play against his former team mates for the second time in just under a month.

Team News

  • Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma looks set for a return to the side and is expected by fans to play on the right side of a centre back trio with John Terry (also returning) and David Luiz.
  • Diego Costa is now only one yellow card away from a games suspension. If he is booked in this game it would mean he would miss Jose Mourinho’s return to Stamford bridge next weekend.
  • The Leicester team are all currently fit.
