José Mourinho - the Ex-Girlfriend

José Mourinho - the Ex-Girlfriend

José Mourinho - the Ex-Girlfriend

The whistle blows and the Bridge erupts with joy as it's a victory on home soil. Both commander-in-chiefs get off their check post. While the Italian attempts for a warm handshake, the Portuguese refuses to go down sportingly. Instead, he lectures the winning comrade on how you are “supposed” to behave when you win; a stunt someone of only Mourinho's audacity can attempt. Pretty ironic, when he mocked the Arsenal boss every time he defeated him.

Anyways…

Now why are we even discussing José again, well, not again, he's gone, he's past. Flussshhh.

Not happening. It's never easy to forget a person who had such an influence on our lives; we had so many great moments with him. We adored him, termed his blatant behaviour as cute, his antics as necessary entertainment, and his rudeness as competitive spirit.

We covered all his flaws under our love hood, yes we never held back when it came to José. But here comes the cliché, "All good things must to come to an end.” God!! José doesn't like them mind you. Abramovich had shown more patience than ever this time around, but that was still not enough for the fans.

The axing of Mourinho was a bit harsh... we could have let him finish the season, or, at the least send him to Vitesse Arnhem on loan to gain some needed experience. We had to say goodbye eventually while teary-eyed.

Like with all relationships, time makes you wiser. And you start to understand why it was right to part ways even after you had invested so much time building it. There were too many excuses, being deluded week after week. In the feat of anger the remarks got personal and almost every player was crucified each weekend.

The confidence was lost and so was the dressing room. To take things back to normal would have required a herculean effort with no guarantee of things working out in the end. Cut to now comes José's unnecessary remark about United having the best fans ever since they were vocal until the end despite being 4 goals down.

Yea right, how would Chelsea fans know that because they were busy singing José Mourinho for whole 90 minutes when the Portuguese titanic was sinking for the second time.

To be fair, Mourinho has behaved way better than expected after the sacking. We can excuse him for the 4-0 clash as that humiliation just got better of him. Just like a relationship counselor will tell you, a failed affair is not the end of your world. And like different life partners things can work out with a new manager too, provided you are ready to give time, effort and commitment. We had our initial phase of ups & downs already with Conte. Since we have survived that and found out what clicks for us, we can hope for a long-term future here.
